It has altitude hold; it has a camera, it has a 6 axis gyroscope, a mobile application that can turn any Android and iOS smartphone into a controller, a controller which acts as a take-off and landing gear, and multiple flight modes which can be used to practice your drone flying skills. Design

The has a compact design with some great features. We will discuss them in detail in the following section. In this section, we will talk about the overall design.

The Cheerson CX-10WD Drone is about 2 inches in size and is quite lightweight. Even though it is a toy grade drone, it has more features than expected from a drone in this price range. It has 4 propellers with guards and is equipped with a 6 axis gyroscope, making it extremely stable and manoeuvrable for flight.

It has multiple LEDs, which provide visibility in low light areas and act as indicators for different notifications, such as a low battery. It has altitude hold, so it will hover in position unless prompted by the user, a 0.3-megapixel FPV camera for taking photos and videos, and comes with a controller that acts as its protective casing as well a launch and landing pad in addition to being the controller.

It is WiFi-enabled and will turn your android and iOS smartphone into a controller and view live feed via a mobile application. It has a flight time of about 5 minutes and a transmission distance of about 50 meters, making it ideal for indoor flight, making home videos with families and loved ones.

You also get a stand to mount the smartphone on the controller to use it as a screen to view the live feed or use the phone as a controller. We observed that if the WiFi is enabled on the smartphone, the drone tends to prefer connecting to the smartphone even if the controller is powered on.

However, the best feature is that the Cheerson CX-10WD Drone does not need a launch or landing pad. It fits right into the controller’s body and can be used as a launch and land area and as a protective casing for the drone—so no need to carry a separate drone and controller, saving space and effort.

Camera Quality

The has a basic 0.3-megapixel FPV camera. FPV means the first-person view. This means that the footage you see will be sort of like what the drone is seeing.  It can record videos up to a maximum resolution of 640*480.

The Cheerson CX-10WD Drone has a battery capacity of 3.7V and 150 mAh. It is a rechargeable, non-detachable Lithium battery with a charging time of 30 minutes. The battery can be charged using a USB cord connected to a computer or a wall adaptor of the same compatibility.

The transmitter or controller does not come with a rechargeable battery or any battery for that matter. It uses  2 AAA batteries to operate. This means that you can use any standard battery for the transmitter, not worry about compatibility. To further reduce waste, you can also use rechargeable AAA batteries.
