Give it to Me Straight

Using drones can be hard. Believe us, we've used all kinds of them and the first thought that comes to mind has never been "Wow, that was so easy to set up".

The Fathom One is different. It only takes four steps to start diving. Honestly, some individuals might consider this closer to three steps, but who's counting?

Steps to success with your Fathom One

1. Plug in the Wifi Link

2. Plug in the Fathom One

3. Connect to your Fathom One's Wifi Network

4. Open the Fathom App and dive

Explore on the Go

Pack it in a day bag, take it in a carryon. The world's smallest underwater drone is ready to go with you.

Choose Your Mode

Remove the thrusters to pack and travel, or put them on to dive and explore. The choice is yours.

Fun and Useful

When we started developing the Fathom One we made a crucial realization. Unlike flying an aerial drone, which you can do anywhere you have... air, most people will have to take a trip to a body of water in order to use the Fathom One. It may be a walk down the street, or it might be a flight across the country. We built modularity into the Fathom One to make those trips easier. Detach the thrusters and pack a compact Fathom One away for travel, you can reattach them when you get to where you're going.

In the (hopefully) unlikely event that one of your thrusters gets broken, replacing is as simple as swapping it out for a new one. No more waiting weeks for customer service to swap a propellor, you can do it right away, because we know your adventure starts when your devices help rather than hinder.

Smart Control

Download the Fathom app for iOS or Android and control the Fathom One right on your screen.

Discover and Share

Record HD videos while you dive. Download and share them later. The Fathom One saves files on board so you don't have to worry about space.

Depths in Your Hands

The Fathom One app is your one stop shop to adventure in the deep. Using the app you can stream live footage right to your screen while you control the Fathom One from the surface. The controls work just like flying a plane in a video game. Think of your left thumb as the throttle, and your right thumb as your direction. Push your left and right thumb forward to dive!

On screen feedback will help you become a better pilot. Your compass heading and depth are shown along the top of the dive screen while your current pitch angle is subtly shown on screen to help you understand if you're going up or down.  We've also included some helpful features like automatic descent and ascent buttons that will move the Fathom One vertically in the water.

Your connection strength to the Link and your Fathom One's battery level are shown in the top left to keep you informed while you explore.

Plug and Play

Connect the Fathom Tether for realtime video and control. Use it as a safety line for a confident dive.

It's About the Physics

We get this question a lot. It's 2018, why are you making a wired version of anything? The answer is one of science. In a nutshell, water absorbs wireless signals. It's the reason why water looks blue, and the reason you're able to heat up food in a microwave. It also means that we can't wirelessly send a live video stream through the water. Instead, we send that information up a tether to the Fathom Link on the surface. Once above the water, you can connect to the Link with a regular old Wifi signal.

Underwater is also a mysterious place. If your drone stops working for some reason or gets stuck, it's nice to have a safety line to pull it back to the surface.

Adaptable Action Rail

With the integrated bottom rail, customize Fathom One to fit your needs.

Adventure À La Carte

The action rail on the Fathom One is about expanding it's capabilities. We didn't want to be limited, and neither should you. using the action rail you can attach anything (within reason) to the bottom of the Fathom One. The only thing we ask is that you make sure it's supposed to go underwater before you put it on there.

We commonly attach additional action cameras to the bottom for super HD footage, dive lights for swimming at night or in caves, or extra weight for swimming in saltwater.

The rail used on the Fathom One is called a "Picatinny Rail". Adapters for this are universal and will fit just about anything you have.

*We don't have our own adapters yet, but ask us and we'll point you in the right direction!
